Wednesday -Also did I mention we have a server? Man I've been playing some Elder Scrolls Online, and it just made me remember about a game i used to play, Started playing in 2009 when i was like 11, played it for years till like 3 years ago and i finally gave it up. Like flying around on my sword. Having some fucking giant tiger as my mount. Farming TT's. Then doing TW with my guild. Farming some more.
Like holy FUCK that game literally took my life away from me as a child, and i dont think i'll ever feel this way with any game.Did anyone else use to play Perfect World? So much playstiles, Werebeast could run fists and swords, I coudl run heavy armour on my Elf Priest, lose lots of damage but damn never played a game with so much variety and honestly, Balance. Untill p2w. I'm totally with you! I think pre-Anniversary Pack (ergo before full P2W) Perfect World was a gem in its time!
I played a Wizard, and for Territory Wars, I did go Light Armor, since you became so much tankier for it, and while you lost Int, you gained some crit to make up. I did think the PvE was mediocre even for its time, but Territory Wars was one of the best implementations of PvP that I've ever seen in any MMORPG.My favorite thing about TW is how it found a way to implement PvP but still have the PvE holy trinity be relevant. In most MMORPG's nowadays, in PvP tanks seem to always be either CC bots or high-damage bruisers, with neither role having anything to do with soaking up damage.
Whereas in PWI's TW, if you wanted to stop those catapults from destroying your towers, you.had. to kill the catapult barbs as well as his cleric support crew!. Bro Yeha you had the barbs pulling the cats along! Man you’re bringing so many memories in my mind of like 13 year old me sweating one out thinking I’m a boss in some Skype call. “KILL THE HEALERS!!!”Also the PVE was so much fun for me too though I loved running TTs in the early days like dying to the clappers / hands that 1 shot you and having to work as a team, obviously in the end game you were able to just Literslly solo everything. The PvP in tbat game was the best pvp experience I’ve ever had and I’ll say the whole game has been my favourite game of all time.
Ftp Level Up Games Perfect World Patch 1
It honestly makes me so fucking sad to think I’m never going to have that love for a game again. I played official pw for 4 years and absolutely fell in love with the gameplay, pvp, and community. But when they started getting into the p2w and rank gears I switched over to a private server and played there for about 5 years. I probably wouldn't have lasted that long if it hadn't been for the guild I was a part of but I did always enjoy the mass pk's and territory wars. We played lots of other games but no other GvG event got us soo pumped like TW did.
And it sucks, because even though I don't play the game anymore I don't think I have ever played another mmorpg with a similar feature to it. I also loved the PW gameplay, especially TW! You were smart to quit when you did (It was the same time I quit, although looking back, I wish I had just quit with the original Anniversary Packs, as that was really the point of no return with full P2W in my eyes.)I had a few guildmates who were known FB junkies that would constantly be megaphone-ing that they'd help anyone for FB's 19-79 to grind rep. My friend actually made it as the first Rank 8 on the server prior to the rep boxes. It was a huge achievement, and all the people who made it to Rank 8 prior to the rep boxes felt hugely burned, after they creeped up to Rank 9 and started handing Rank 8's out like candy to anyone willing to swipe.
In retrospect, that seemed to be the trend PWE was going. Every few months, push the envelope of P2W and burn more and more of your existing players. Still, the experience was fun while it lasted, and to this day, I still think TW is one of the best implementations of PvP in any MMORPG!. Perfect world private server named exetrnalpw just launched 15days ago, its x1 rate 1.3.6 patch before sin and psy class. Full non pay2win, come join:) btw pwi was best and I had best time in any game ever thanks to my guild I had on lost city. I never found same game as pw back in prime time and I played everything almost.
Lost city tavern/madserbs represent 😎 and after all this time I play on p.server and its still one of the best games ever, have great pve and pvp, crafting, trading.everything u want from mmorpg. I started playing this last week and it is the Perfect World I remember playing many years ago.
There's a lot of things that confuse me now that didn't seem to confuse me back then due to MMO's changing so much over the years. Games today walk you through just about everything and back then you had to work things out and it was fun to try and figure out how things work and where things are and who you need to talk to. It's easier for me to take my time and not rush to end-game in this version and still have fun doing it. I played PW for several years and loved it. After the fish race expansion came out with the OP bloodpaint Assassins and rank gear got so totally grind or Pay 2 Win, and all the glut of gatcha in the cash shop I went over to Anarchy Online and then eventually WOW.I think the Territory Wars was the best group PVP ever, better than WOW, GW2's World vs World, or Anarchy Onlines Tower Wars. I loved the air combat with other players and flying mobs. The artwork and music was outstanding. The dungeons were a blast. The current version is just insanely P2W.There are two private servers I have tried.
Level Up Games Perfect World Philippines
Epic Perfect Word and Extended Perfect World. I prefer the Epic PW. Unfortunately both are monetized in a way that most players want to rush to endgame, so on both servers, starting cities and low level dungeons up to even FC are deserted.I like Epic as the cash shop is not to egregious, most of the best mounts are reasonable and if your a Veno, the ultimate pets are also not too expensive.I just log on every few months or so to take my ground and air mounts for a spin and maybe do a few dailies, no way I have the time for trying to get geared for end game. Used to play Perfect world, Venomancer that never quite made it to Sage. Kind of hit burnout from a lack of group to play with, and with Assassins being the hot new thing out with their ability to solo content that previously required a full setup with actual tank and healer roles, it just kind of made things. Add in the fact that Frost Covered City could now be cleared solo or duo, this means that four players can effectively leech on the runs for free.
And at the end of FCC is a bunch of heads that come up from the ground that don't have a level (Labeled as ???) and are good for about 5k EXP each. Lower level players could power level here while paying the person running the instance for their time. This lead to people being decently high level in the game with absolutely zero skills, genuinely frustrating in a game that has a leveling structure and an overarching story quest that progresses you through the game with actual skills and abilities unlocked. It became a genuine problem, and it appeared that there was no concern about it from the actual developers of the game that this was going on. Assassins broke the game, people were leeching experience without progressing their character, and the devs only saw money rolling into the game.
A real shame; a gorgeous game for its time, interesting combat loops with the classes, and actual build choices that could be made within each class in regards to Sage and Demon. I was the second sin to hit 100:p me and beezlebub. I then went full on p2w as one does think I was full +12 with nirv daggers on zerc and interval. I remember killing shinzoko with frost daggers and people flipping out lool. Got r9 ring before I quit. What was your name? I was pretty active in world chat and the pvp scene the time I played so maybe that was before you?
I think insurrect was a couple months old when I quit and was lead by an ex essence member called midnight. I remember vietxtcguy also leading it at some time. I started as a barb, then switched to veno for the nix bleed trick. Once the expansion hit with the fish people, I went sin for the dps with the healing damage%.Every class I played was tons of fun.
I used to camp the spawn point for the baby polar bear cub to piss off the venos. (someone stole my friend's tame by blocking the view with their large mount).I lost about 4 years of my life to that game. PVP was great.
For years I was ranked in the top 10 for most kills. I learned a TON from that game. I met a girl (still friends with) on there. Met friends from all over the world.
I cant remember my first server (PVE) but I played on the Harshlands server for most of my gaming experience.I managed to accomplish a lot. Quit once I got to level 102. I did TW a TON! I was always in one of the top 5 ranking guilds. I was one of the best damn spotters in the game.
I always had control knowing exactly which lane the catas were being pulled. Once I got strong enough, (as a sin) I focused hard on the healers and the mages.I had no job, no life, friends always out and about doing something. I focused on making money in-game to fund the gaming. I was always 2-3 clients running at a time. Awesome to have your own cleric buffs, and barb buffs for doing PVP anytime you needed it. I had a veno that I used a cactus to pull a world boss across the map, to spend 10 hours solo-ing it hidden in a corner to get the drops. The frost run glitch ruined the game.
Undeserving people ended up advancing too fast and caused imbalance. Loved that game though, glad I played it for soo long even though that part of my life was wasted.

The 2 games he mentiones suck. They suck alot. I played them both and they could only possibly appeal to Korean-grind-lovers.
Which makes them suck. Suck.get it?Ok about Perfect World. No I didn't play it, but I hear it's basically WoW. I quit playing WoW 7 months ago ( whew that long already) and anything remotely related to the concept of WoW in a PvE setting ( WAR fanboi here ) is suck.by default. The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. No, seriously, I've not played any of them, for me the moment a game is FTP I discard any thought off playing them.
But lots of folks do enjoy them so I suppose there is some merit.I've read some pretty good things about Perfect World, vs a lot more bad for the other 2, but then again, its new. Given time they might all equal out in terms of buzz.LIke someone said.give Perfect World a trial. Then you'll know for sure. Of the WoW/EQ genre and it's pay to play clones (Eve not included, nor SWG-PreCU or UO). The best way to describe PW would be like a cross between WoW and Lineage II, taking the best qualities of both games and cutting out the crap. You should really open your mind up a little bit and give PW a fair chance as I think you'd be pleasantly surprised by this one if you did. I went into the game with a fair amount of skepticism but that soon faded away once I started playing.Edit: Oh and btw.I absolutely hated WoW but I'm finding PW to be quite enjoyable.Bren. Heck I didn't even bothered to play the trial to the end.Still I find Perfect World very enjoyable. And if people actually RPed, that'd be a good place to do it(With the ammount of Character Customization available, I haven't seen anyone looking like me).In short, I agree with Bren.
Perfect World is well worth a try. It's like a Free and, IMO, Funner WoW.
Perfect world is definitely worth a look. You have nothing to lose.
I only played a little Silkroad, but did not like it because of the grind.I'm not normally an advocate of F2P but if I had my choice of PW or Vanguard, PW wins hand over fist. (but then poking my eyes out with hot needles is more appealing then playing Vanguard ) It has a few minor issues but nothing serious, the translations are pretty bad in some cases.so bad they make you giggle at times. I plan on offering my services as a translator and introducing Asia to the awesome technology of Engrish wordrap.
(sorry it drives me nuts)Just load it up and play with the character creation system, its on roughly the same level as City of Heroes. That should win you over. I've played all three, for at least two weeks in each. This is what I think:1) Character customization/3D world: PW Silkroad Rappelz. In PW you can jump and fly, which you can't do in the other two.2) Pet system: Rappelz PW Silkroad. PW has a huge variety of pets but unfortunately only a werefox can own a fighting pet.All the other classes are stuck with mount pets only. But the horse in PW is so expensive that only high level players can afford, unless you want to buy mount in item shops.
Plus out of so many pets game offers, only two kinds of pets in PW are worth owning even for a Werefox player, very unbalanced imo. Rappelz on the other hand, is great with pet system as any class can own any pet game has to offer, plus skills. Silkroad's pet wolf is pretty useless.3) PVP: PW has a really nice RvR type of pvp, fun but still a closed pvp system.
Silkroad's triangular system is semi-open pvp, which I think is superior to PW because you can see actions all around you while grinding. Rappelz' pvp is bad compared to the others.4) PVE: PW has a lot more interesting quests, the other two are just kill X number of monsters for Y amount of exp. So PW Silkroad = Rappelz.5) Sound: I create this category because I think PW is lacking in good weapon sound and is the reason I stopped playing PW. Fighting just doesn't feel like fighting without loud and clear weapons' clanking. Silkroad is better at making good sound and atmosphere than PW. So Silkroad PW Rappelz. All three are grinders. Or the bad combat. But hey for free, its pretty good.
